Smart phone Apps
1. What are MSGCU’s Smart Phone Apps?
MSGCU’s iPhone and Android Apps are free Mobile Banking applications for the iPhone, the iPod Touch, and phones operating on Google’s Android operating system. These Apps are optimized for use with the specific device that they are downloaded to.
2. How much does it cost to use the iPhone App or Android App?
The iPhone App and Android App are provided as a free service to MSGCU members.
3. Are MSGCU’s Apps secure?
Yes. MSGCU uses SSL encryption to communicate securely with all services. MSGCU always uses state-of the-art security measures to protect your data, no matter how you access your accounts.
4. What functionality is available for MSGCU’s Apps?
You can view your balances, your transaction history, and images of cleared checks. You can also transfer funds within your account and use the App to find a nearby ATM or branch location.
5. Do I need a username and a password?
Yes, you will use the same username and password you have for MSGCU's Online Banking.
6. What if I am not enrolled in Online Banking?
Enrollment in MSGCU’s Online Banking is required to use the Apps. In order to enroll, go to our home page, and choose "New User" inside the Account Access area.
7. How do I access MSGCU’s iPhone or Android Apps for the first time?
MSGCU’s iPhone App can be downloaded to any device that uses the iOS operating system (with an OS version of 3.1 or higher) such as an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

8. What’s the process to log on to my account using the iPhone and Android Apps?
The log on process for the iPhone and Android Apps is similar to Account Access log on. On the Login screen in the App, simply enter your account number or User ID and your password. The password is the same as your Online Banking password. Click the Login button to complete the process.
9. How do the Apps help me find an ATM in MSGCU’s network?
Select Find ATM/Branch from the Home screen. The Apps allow you to use your device’s GPS function and display the locations of the branches and ATMs closest to your location. You can select a location and receive driving directions.

1. What is MSGCU’s Mobile Account Access?
MSGCU’s Mobile Account Access is a free Mobile Banking site optimized for Internet browsers on a mobile device.
2. How much does it cost to use Mobile Account Access?
Mobile Account Access is free. Standard wireless carrier charges apply.
3. Is Mobile Account Access secure?
Yes. MSGCU uses SSL encryption to communicate securely with all services. MSGCU always uses state-of the-art security measures to protect your data, no matter how you access your accounts.

7. How do I access MSGCU’s Mobile Account Access for the first time?
There are two ways to access Mobile Account Access.

- Open browser on phone
- Type https://m-msgcu.onlineaccounts.org/wap
Once you arrive at the site, it is recommended that you save the site in your bookmarks on your device.
8. What’s the process to log on to my account using Mobile Account Access?
Mobile Account Access is similar to Account Access log on. On the Login screen, simply enter your account number or User ID and your password. The password is the same as your Online Banking password. Click the Login button to complete the process.
9. How does the site help me find an ATM in MSGCU’s network?
Select Find ATM/Branch from the Home screen. Enter in your address, and the site will find an ATM closest to you. If available on your device, selecting a location will provide driving directions.

MSGCU’s Text Banking is free. Standard wireless carrier charges apply.

Text Banking provides Online Banking users with an easy and convenient way to manage their accounts and expand Account Access account security all via SMS text messaging.

5. How do I sign up to use Text Banking?
To use Text Banking, login to Account Access, and click on the Text Banking link on the left-hand menu. There, you can register a mobile device for use with the service.
6. Can I access my account from more than one mobile device?
Yes, you may register multiple devices on the same account via Online Banking.
7. How do I register my mobile device?
During the enrollment in Text Banking via Online Banking, you will be asked to enter your ten-digit mobile phone number. Next, you will receive an activation code via text message that must be entered into the Account Access Text Banking screen immediately. It is then required to text MSGCU bal S0001 to complete registration. You are then ready to start using that handset with Text Banking.
8. Where do I text my account inquiries and transactions?
Send your text messages to 90703. Hint: Add Text Banking (90703) to your contact list on your phone for easy access.
9. Are there any requirements for my first message sent to MSGCU?
Yes, it is required that your first message to MSGCU's code is MSGCU bal S0001. Once this has been completed, it is not required to enter MSGCU for any further texts.
10. Can I get assistance within Text Banking?
For help using the Text Banking service, you may text the word HELP to code 90703, and we will send you a help message containing a list of available keywords.
11. How do I unsubscribe from MSGCU Text Banking?
You can disable any handset within Online Banking. To customize your Text Banking service, just login to Account Access, and click on the Text Banking menu option on the left. You can enable or disable certain features within Text Banking to better suit your needs.
12. How do I format messages sent to MSGCU Text Banking?
Every message sent to Text Banking via 90703, whether the first command requesting a balance or a response letting us know which account from the account list you would like the balance on, must include the keyword or response. Examples of typical messages and responses from Text Banking are as follows…
Example 1: Retrieve an account balance
- Enter the Command: BAL
- Expected Response: A list of available accounts
- Enter the Command: 3
- Expected Response: The balance for the account labeled 3 on the list of available accounts
Example 2: Retrieve an account balance using the shortcut method
- Enter the Command: BAL S0001
- Expected Response: The balance for your MSGCU Share 01 account
Example 3: Transfer $250 from your MSGCU Share 01 to your Loan 01
- Enter the Command: TRAN S0001 L0001 250
- Expected Response: Message requesting confirmation of the transfer
- Enter the Command: YES
- Expected Response: Message confirming completion of transfer
13. Is MSGCU Text Banking case sensitive?
No, Text Banking is not case sensitive. Commands typed in uppercase or lowercase letters will be recognized. For example, the service will respond to your balance inquiry whether your message sent reads “bal” or “BAL.”
14. Does MSGCU Text Banking offer command shortcuts so I can access my information and make transfers more quickly?
Yes, we have simple command shortcuts. These shortcuts help you easily and quickly access your accounts for inquiries, to make transfers, and to manage your Online Banking security. The following is a list of the shortcuts available via Text Banking. Please modify your Share or Loan ID as applicable for each command shown (e.g. S0001, S0075, L0001, L0030).
- HELP – Get contact information
- BAL S0001 – Get a balance on your share or loan
- HIST L0001 – Get transaction history on your share or loan
- NEXT – Get the next five transactions of transaction history after receiving the first response on a history command
- TRAN S0001 L0001 200 – Transfer $200 from S0001 to L0001
- LOCK – Lock your Internet Account Access account (login not allowed)
- UNLOCK – Unlock your Internet Account Access account (login allowed)
- COM - Get a list of available Text Banking keywords
15. What does it mean when I see “1/2” in my text received?
All text messages are limited to 160 characters. Because some Text Banking messages exceed 160 characters, you will receive your account information in multiple messages. The label “1/2” means that you are reading the first in a series of two messages from MSGCU. To avoid confusion, always read messages in the correct order.
16. I am enrolled in MSGCU Text Banking and have text messaging capabilities on my mobile phone. Why am I unable to receive text messages from MSGCU Text Banking on my mobile device?
If you are unable to receive Text Banking messages but can receive standard text messages on your phone, “short codes” may be blocked on your mobile phone. To use Text Banking, you must enable short codes with your mobile provider. (“Short codes” are special telephone numbers used to send text messages from mobile phones. They are often used for services such as television voting, ordering ring tones, charity donations, and mobile services such as MSGCU’s Text Banking.)
17. Are there any limitations by cell phone carrier for Text Banking?
At this time, T-Mobile does not allow Text Banking transfers on its network. We will update this page if any changes are made to a cell phone carrier's requirements.
