Rudolph Heino High School Scholarship

Rudolph Heino was a long-time MSGCU Board Member who strongly upheld the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” Like its namesake, the Rudolph Heino High School Scholarship is designed to help high school seniors who demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment to inspiring others through leadership.

Students were selected based on a number of criteria, including school and community service, school activities, academic achievement (including GPA), and an essay. Five (5) $2,500 scholarships were offered. The application period for this scholarship closed on March 8, 2019. Please check back next year.

Larry Swantek Educational Studies Scholarship

Former MSGCU Board Member Larry Swantek, a teacher for 25 years, embraced his role as an educator and taught lessons that impacted thousands of students both in and out of the classroom. The Larry Swantek Educational Studies Scholarship is designed to assist high school seniors planning to major in Education in college or college students currently majoring in Education.

Students were selected based on a number of criteria, including academic achievement (including GPA), school activities, and an essay. Four (4) $2,500 scholarships were offered. The application period for this scholarship closed on March 8, 2019. Please check back next year.

Educational Solutions Scholarship

As a senior in high school, you are on the verge of many great things. MSGCU wants to ensure that your big plans aren't derailed by the high cost of education. The Educational Solutions Scholarship provides 18 high school seniors with $2,500 to help offset the cost of their college education. Eligible students must have been planning to attend a university, college, or technical campus.

Students were selected based on a number of criteria, including community service, school activities, a letter of recommendation, an essay, and academic achievement. Eighteen (18) one-time $2,500 scholarships were offered. The application period for this scholarship closed on March 8, 2019. Please check back next year.

Educator Advantage Scholarship

As a certified educator or administrator, you have made a commitment to the concept of education. What about your continuing education? Don’t let the high cost of higher education stop you from lifelong learning. The Educator Advantage Scholarship provided four (4) recipients $2,500 to help offset the cost of continuing education.

Recipients were selected based on a number of criteria, including work history, outstanding achievements, an essay, and an administrator's letter of recommendation. Four (4) one-time $2,500 scholarships were offered. The application period for this scholarship closed on March 8, 2019. Please check back next year.

William Cayen Skilled Trades Scholarship

William Cayen is a long-time MSGCU Board Member who developed a passion helping students achieve their dreams and follow their passions. Often times, students with a true passion or talent within a specific field consider attending a trade or vocational school. With the skilled trades industry being in high-demand in Michigan, we are proud to offer funds to help offset the cost of a certificate program in engineering, manufacturing, or other industrial and advanced technologies. The William Cayen Skilled Trades Scholarship will provide two (2) recipients $2,500 to fund a certificate program in the skilled trades industry.

Recipients were selected based on a number of criteria, including academic excellence, an essay, and an administrator's letter of recommendation. Two (2) one-time $2,500 scholarships were offered. The application period for this scholarship closed on March 8, 2019. Please check back next year.
