Repayment Specialists (full and part time):

Essential Duties: Responsible for collecting 30-, 60-, 90+ day delinquent accounts. Intuitively gathers information needed to secure payments or pursue legal action.  Actively listens to the member while processing pertinent information and showing empathy and compassion for their situation.  Maintains accurate and complete collection notes. Confidently negotiates payment arrangements in a professional manner that are workable for the member and the credit union while building member relationships.   Applies resourceful collection approach to varying delinquency situations and quickly and effectively overcomes objections. Utilizes appropriate technology (Excel and database systems) to track and monitor collection efforts. Interacts with attorneys, repossession firms, and realtors.

Requirements: Ability to develop and manage member relationships while collecting delinquencies and managing risk for the credit union. Self-motivated, resourceful, persistent, and analytical, with strong fact finding experience and organizational skills. Internal drive to take on and overcome challenges and achieve results. Solid skill and experience in multi-tasking (such as listening on phone call while documenting system collection notes). Ability to remain calm and objective in stressful, escalating member conversations, while ensuring members are treated with dignity, firm diplomacy, and professionalism. Ability to think on their feet, adapt to changing situations quickly, and innovative (think out-of-the-box). Goal-oriented while at the same time supporting team relationships. Proven drive for accomplishment and results balanced with a sense of pride about helping others. Strong communication capabilities including verbal conversational rigor, writing with succinctness, listening skills, and negotiating ability. Technology-proficient with intermediate Word and Excel skills and experience using database systems.
