Blessings in a Backpack Supported by our Warren Office

MSGCU is committed to the youth in our community, so we are honored to support Blessings in a Backpack. Because no child should have to worry about if or when they will have their next meal.

The Warren branch was proud to recently make a donation to Blessings in a Backpack in 2017. This organization is leading the movement to end childhood hunger. Their program ensures that those children who qualify for free and reduced meal programs, during the school week, leave school on Fridays with a bag of nutritious food to eat over the weekend.

"One in five American children face food insecurity — more than the populations of New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago combined," according to the Blessings in a Backpack website.

As one of our team members shared, by donating to this very deserving organization, "I know that I'm helping to make a difference in someone's life."
