MSGCU Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Macomb Township Branch Office

September 29, 2021 – Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) opened the doors to its Macomb Township branch office in January, making it MSGCU’s 16th location. On September 23, MSGCU hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize the opening. The ribbon was cut by several MSGCU representatives including Board Chairman, William Cayen and Branch Sales Manager, Jennifer Burnett. Also assisting with the ribbon cutting included Macomb County Executive, Mark Hackel and Macomb Township Supervisor, Frank Viviano. Others in attendance were the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, local area business and community leaders, and MSGCU Board Members and employees. Guests were invited to enjoy refreshments, get to know branch team members and management of the Credit Union, and tour the facility.

“We are extremely pleased to have expanded our presence in Macomb County this past year and offer increased accessibility and more convenience to our members that live, work, and commute in the growing Macomb area,” said MSGCU President/CEO, Peter Gates. “This branch office in Macomb Township allows us to be a financial champion to community members by helping them reach their financial goals with better rates, low fees, and personalized service.”

Together, Burnett, who is also a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, and Assistant Branch Manager, Sarah Sarver, have more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry and have been instrumental in supporting the Macomb community. Recently, MSGCU donated $1,000 to the Ray Township Fire Department as part of MSGCU’s dedication to community giving.

“The community has given us a warm welcome to the area, and we’ve been fortunate to assist and meet many wonderful members and residents,” said Branch Sales Manager, Jennifer Burnett. “We look forward to furthering our community involvement, such as we did with the Ray Township Fire Department and continuing to be active in the surrounding communities.”

Located at 26 Mile and Romeo Plank, the branch office is the 10th in Macomb County. The Macomb Township branch office features three drive-thru lanes and 4,220 square feet of space with a touch-screen information board, coffee bar, and 24-hour ATM. It offers MSGCU’s comprehensive suite of services and products for the benefit of its members and the community. This includes Saturday lobby and drive-thru hours, market-leading rates for a variety of loans and deposits, a fully staffed Michigan call center, access to nearly 30,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide, scholarship opportunities, free educational workshops, and much more.
