My grant project can be used in any subject area, but will initially be used to improve math and reading workshops. In my class, "workshop" is when students rotate between 4 stations: time with teacher, independent, technology, and fluency. VersaTiles will be used during the independent station to provide all of my students with immediate feedback. While independently completing a practice sheet, students use the VersaTiles answer case to move numbered tiles to a corresponding lettered spot. If the final placements of the tiles matches a pre-determined design, then students know they got every answer correct. Any tiles that are out of place indicate they need to correct the problems that correlate with those numbered tiles. One of the best parts of my project is that it will be used by this years students and future students. The answer cases are durable and the student workbooks can be photocopied and reused. It is an investment in adaptability.
