MSGCU is the Official Credit Union of the MHSAA

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Sept. 23, 2026 – Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is proud to announce its partnership with the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) for the 2026 – 27 school year. MHSAA is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that is the governing body for high school sports in Michigan, serving 755 member high schools, more than 180,000 high school athletes, and several thousands more at the middle school and junior high levels. Through this partnership, MSGCU will serve as the Official Credit Union of the MHSAA.

“While today anyone in Michigan can bank with us, MSGCU was founded by a group of teachers over 70 years ago and we have a long-standing commitment to supporting schools and students,” said Steve Brewer, MSGCU President/CEO. “This partnership allows us to serve schools across Michigan, while helping to advance MHSAA’s mission of promoting sportsmanship, safety, and integrity in athletics.”

MSGCU supports MHSAA in its efforts to manage a fair and level playing field in Michigan school sports to help students and athletic programs grow. “Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union’s partnership with the MHSAA reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Michigan communities by supporting schools, student-athletes, and the families who help them succeed. Together, we’re investing in opportunities that extend far beyond the playing field,” said Mark Uyl, Executive Director, Michigan High School Athletic Association.

MSGCU supports all 31 MHSAA sports across the fall, winter, and spring seasons. MSGCU team members will be available to connect with student-athletes and parents at the following two events this fall:

  • MHSAA Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals: November 7, 2026, at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
  • MHSAA 11-Player Football Finals: November 27–28, 2026, at Ford Field in Detroit.
