Jason Battershell has been helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals since 2003. For him, mortgage lending is about much more than financing a home. "I love sharing a part of one of the most important decisions a person makes in his or her lifetime," Jason says. "A house is a tremendous asset, and it's important to leverage it intelligently."
What Jason values most about MSGCU is its commitment to servicing mortgage loans in-house. While many lenders sell loan servicing shortly after closing, MSGCU continues to service its members' loans. Members can count on ongoing support and a trusted point of contact long after their loan closes.
Jason approaches every relationship as a true partnership. "I help members by being their Financial Champion," he says. "I can't achieve success unless the member achieves success first." That member-first mindset has helped Jason build lasting relationships throughout his career. One of the accomplishments he is most proud of is the trust he has earned from clients, many of whom have referred their friends and family members to him over his 20+ years in the industry.
Jason attended Saginaw Valley State University, where he majored in Marketing and played football, serving as a team captain. A lifelong Southeast Michigan resident, he has called the area home for more than four decades. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, who also works in the financial services industry, and their two children.
